An initiated to reduce the every single use of plastic bags in food packing containers and unreplaceable major issue for water bottles has been taken by the two popularly known states of India; Tripura and Kerala.

Perhaps the expectation of living life at ease has affected heathy schedule and replaced our fresh food with a deliciously poisonous meal. The lavish lifestyle culture has made our daily life so hectic that today people don’t have enough to time cook for them thus they often take help of other substitutive options to order food from online distributive companies to their door in a minute. Do we even moot how the food is delivered to our door at once? Probably most of you have the answer in negation because the extremely starving soul makes you forget about its all malignant consequences, but doesn’t mean the thing you can’t see, isn’t present there; it still appears. Thousands of orders are placed online for edible items every day it, the food comes with multiple plastic packing bags which further increases the use of plastic bags in our daily lives. The main problem occurs when the polythene bags are thrown in biodegradable dustbins then it exasperates the situation and it becomes almost out of one’s reach to separate it.

Causes 

Tourism: it plays an indispensable role in spreading the plastic bags and water bottles in a city because the tourists don’t have everything to a new place where they go to spend a peaceful time with their dear ones. They buy or make an order online almost for every meal through online food delivery apps and avail themselves of the fastest technology. 

Tiring Life Schedule: Today’s era with expensive lifestyle requires both a male and a female to work shoulder to shoulder to make the livelihood perfectly. The exhausting job responsibilities almost finish the energy and the leftover is done by travelling so the tired people prefer ordering food online than dare to cook at late night. This also burgeons the speed of spreading poly bags.

Cheap costing: The plastic bags are cheaper in price than the bags made up of jute or clothes. It is the main concern for the suppliers to use it in order to make an extra profitable effort. Money is the dust that fades the carefulness towards the nature.

But an extraordinary step has been initiated to reduce the every single use of plastic bags in food packing containers and unreplaceable major issue for water bottles by the two popularly known states of India Tripura and Kerala. Mr. Biplab Deb the Chief Minister of Tripura nationally launched the bamboo water bottles on 29^th June, 2021 according to The Times of India report and banned the plastic water bottles permanently to buy in the state.

Tripura

The execution of the initiate was totally of the shoulders of an India Forest Service (IFS) officer who is currently serving his duty to the nation as the Managing Director of Tripura Rehabilitation Plantation Corporation Limited. He used the available resources to make it possible for everybody to use bamboo water bottle. It took him almost a year to find out the best quality bamboo variety. After selecting the same he trained 10 artisans who later trained 1000 artisans to make the process faster.

B.C.D.I. The Bamboo and Cane Development Institute in Tripura got success after the experiments and researches to make bamboo bottles fit for potable water without odor, fungi and water leakage problem. The demand of bamboo bottles increased rapidly after a twitter message written by Ms. Raveena Tandon where she informed the general public about her ordering a bamboo water bottle for her own use.

Raveena Tandon wrote, “Just ordering mine! Have you?”

 

Replying to Tandon’s twit, Tripura’s Chief Minister Biplab Dev said,” Raveena-ji’s encouragement will surely boost the morale of the local artisans. As a sign of gratitude, we will make sure the product reaches you soon.” Further he wrote praising the luck of Tripura that “Tripura is proud to introduce a variety of unique & eco-friendly handcrafted bamboo made bottles. The bottles made by the bamboo artisans of the state. The products are being promoted under PradhanMantri Van Dhan Yojana (PMVDVK) and National Bamboo mission (NBM) schemes. The industry can earn huge employment and livelihood opportunity to thousands of artisans.” 

Some decorative items are also in trend which are prepared with bamboo and don’t get destructed by the bugs as they don’t like making it their meal.

Kerala

To get rid of plastic packing bags Kerala people have found out a pretty awesome idea to use banana leaves and Siali leaves from Odisha to curb the use of plastic on a daily basis. They arranged a meeting with the food supplier and came up with an innovative idea to replace the plastic packing material with banana leaves which remarkably will affect the people’s mind to promote in rapidly. It increases the farming of Banana which provides a way of employment to the men and women to use the leaves and convey them to the food suppliers. Some decorative items are also in trend which are prepared with bamboo and don’t get destructed by the bugs as they don’t like making it their meal.
